The year 2019 marked the 100th anniversary of the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) and also the 150th anniversary of the development of the Periodic Law of Elements independently by Dmitri Mendeleev and Lothar Meyer.

In celebration of this anniversary, IUPAC and International Younger Chemists Network (IYCN) announced the creation of a Periodic Table of Younger Chemists. The winners of each element were revealed according to the timeline of chemical elements discovery.

I am honoured to have been selected to represent Zinc (Zn) in the Periodic Table of Younger Chemists for the celebration of IUPAC@100 and IYPT.
